Blog #4: Rethinking the Revolution

1. George Washington went through his writings and fixed any mistakes, and overall edited his style, after the war.
2. The Revolutionary War didn't have as many overall deaths as other wars, such as the civil war. This was thought to be because the elites in Boston wanted the war to be censored, in order to quell the labor movement of the time.
3.There was no recorded imagery of any fights or battles in the war.
4. Most of the British commanders and leaders during the war were largely forgotten, whereas US soldiers like George Washington are often remembered. This causes the war to be remembered more by the American cause, a fight for liberty.
5.The French played a relatively small role in the war.

I felt that the Black Lives Matter movement was very similar to the revolutionary war in that they were both groups of people who felt they were oppressed rising up and reclaiming thier rights.
